The Worcester State University Dance Team is made up of some of the best dancers in Central Massachusetts and beyond. Ranked 13th in the nation, the team performs at Football and Basketball halftimes, campus appearances, philanthropic events, and competitions both regionally and nationally at ESPN Wide World of Sports. The Dance Team is made up of ambassadors for the University representing not only Worcester State but also the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The proud tradition of the WSU Dance Team is carried on each year by 20+ dancers who devote a minimum of 15 hours each week to practices, games, special on and off-campus appearances, camps, clinics, and competitions.
Our goals are always to grow, represent our school and state with pride, and have fun! Our WSU Dance Team is made up of three teams: Game Day, Jazz Competition, and Hip Hop Competition. Teams are decided based on annual tryouts in April (late tryouts offered in September for Game Day only). All members must be full-time enrolled WSU students in good standing academically with the school. Team members are held to very high standards as they are a public face of the school near and far. The Game Day Team performs at all on and off-campus events and appearances, while the competition teams have additional appearances, responsibilities, and expectations beyond those performances.
Dance Team is a Club Sport and falls under the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership Development.
